The Height of Nazi Germany
Kristallnacht - 9-10 November 1938
Nazi Supporters smashed the windows of Jewish shops and burned down synagogues. They also killed, kidnapped and beat over 30,000 Jewish civilians. Many were sent to concentration camps. All of their rights and freedoms were revoked, they were aliens in their own country.
Holocaust - 1933-1945
From the beginning of Hitlers reign he began to strip Jews of their rights, after the Kristallnacht, Jews, Aryans, Homosexuals, POW's and Gypsies were sent to concentration camps to be put to work or killed. It is estimated around 6 million Jewish people were killed and around 11 million in total. 2/3 of the Jewish population was eradicated from Europe.
Sudetenland - 1938
In 1938 the Sudetenland was annexed to Germany, Jewish people who were living lost their rights and were transported to concentration camps. Many Jews were persecuted along with German socialists, communists and pacifists. The Sudetenland became one of the most pro-Nazi areas during the Third Reich.
Russo - German Non-Aggression Pact - 23 August 1939
Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union met and signed the Russo-German Non-Aggression Pact, which guaranteed that the two countries would not attack each other. It was in Germany's self interest to sign this pact so they could avoid having to fight a two-front war during World War II. The pact was broken when Nazi Germany attacked the Soviet Union less than two years later, on June 22, 1941.
Nuremburg Trials - 20 November 1945 - 1 October 1946
The Nuremberg Trials were a series of military trials, held by the Allied powers of World War II, most notable for the prosecution of prominent members of the political, military, and economic leadership of Nazi Germany. All people prosecuted were held under a rule of law, so they would be punished for the crimes they had committed during the war.
Hitler's Death - 30 April 1945
40 hours after his marriage to Eva Braun, both Hitler and his wife committed suicide. Hitler by gunshot to the head and Eva by cyanide poisoning. Just hours before the suicide, Hitler was proposed the idea of a breakout in the evening. Hitler and his wife retired to Hitler personal quarters and an hour later a gunshot was heard from outside.
